"I will always love my Tommy. I still visit his grave regularly, he is always in my thoughts.”

On 21^st November 1974 bombs exploded in two Birmingham pubs killing 21 people and injuring over 200 others. 

One of the victims that died was Neil ' Tommy' Marsh, the son of Hilda Turner. Tommy was the youngest of the Birmingham pub bombings victims to die aged just 16. 

Ever since, along with the families and loved ones of all of the victims, Hilda as been fighting for justice. The inquest into the bombings is set to start on 25^th February 2019, before a jury. 

But Hilda can't participate properly in the inquest into her son's death without your support. 

There are thousands of pages to read and consider in detail, if there is any hope of getting to the truth of what happened and why. The Coroner has a legal team funded by the government, as does the West Midlands Police. 

Hilda Turner needs a properly funded legal team to be able to prepare in order to represent her effectively when up against government-funded lawyers. This is our last chance for a human rights investigation into the deaths of our loved ones in our quest for truth, justice and accountability.

To date, the legal team of solicitors and barristers representing the family of Neil Marsh have received no public funding in order to effectively participate in this inquest into his death.

It is becoming clear that without the support of people generous enough to support her, Mrs Turner will simply not be able to effectively participate in this investigation into the death of her son – the last chance she and the other families may have to achieve some justice.

That will damage the integrity of this inquest and serve only to fuel further speculation and rumour.

This plea for support is not just from us for Hilda, but on behalf of those who were lost: it is made on behalf of the people of Birmingham, and the wider public interest. This goes to what in our society we mean by the Rule of Law, and why truth remains hidden.
