We need your help!
As you may be aware, planning applications have been made for Europe's biggest factory farm to be built in Methwold and Feltwell.
The mega farm will house 6.4 million chickens and 56,000 pigs annually that's 49500 chickens per shed (x20) and 1000 pigs per shed.
If the application is accepted, this would cause huge detrimental impact on daily life. From thousands of extra lorry movements on our already small country roads, to contaminated drinking water, toxic air pollution, ground pollution, dust, our homes being plagued with flies.. The list goes on.
If you live within the 6 mile radius (and possibly further afield) this will potentially affect your daily life, children and family.
When a few local residents found out about the proposed factory farm, they were deeply concerned for what this would mean if the farm was to go ahead, this is when Cranswick Objection Group was formed. Over the past year, lots of locals have joined our cause and have worked tirelessly to spread awareness and inform locals and surrounding villages of the applications.
As a community of volunteers, we are collectively working together to try to put a stop to Cranswick's Mega Farm application.
We know we have a big fight on our hands, and we are trying to prepare for this. We understand that we need legal representation, and this comes at a cost.
The first Legal representation that we need will be at the planning committee decision making meeting, to attempt to stop these applications from being passed.
We are asking, would you be willing to help?
The funds raised will be used for legal representation and challenges this will no doubt bring up. We know that we are going to need a substantial amount to get this started.
If you can and are willing to help us raise funds, please contribute - anything will help us.
Thank you all.

Odour Report complete - Let's prepare for further action!
THANK YOU ALL for your generosity so far.
With your help we now have Lawyers instructed and also an expert who has produced a damning report of the planning applications that have been submitted. This can be found in the files section of our Facebook page.
In spite of the false rumour that was recently circulated, we confirm that we still have a fight on our hands if we are to prevent this horrendous development taking place. We have received no confirmation that there is any truth whatsoever in it and the planning applications remain live and active.
In order to be prepared to respond to any further moves by the applicants and to take any further preemptive measures required, we ask you all to continue to support us with your generosity, until such time as we can be certain that we have done all we can to defeat these applications and to preserve the health and welfare of local residents and the local environment. Every penny counts, please donate whatever you can afford.
We are extending our donation target to £15,000, for now and this will run for a further 30 days. We will need all of this and more if the applications end up in long legal battles.
Once again THANK YOU for your continued support! Without you we would not have got this far and would not be able to continue.
