I am campaigning on behalf of many local Ilford residents to stop these high density housing plans on public health and environmental grounds. In this borough we already have too many tower blocks.

The application to build a 42 storey tower block on the Bodgers site and a 13 storey tower block on the Recorder House site has been approved by the Greater London Authority and Redbridge Council despite strong opposition from local action groups including an online petition.

We believe that these schemes should be challenged for many public health and safety as well as social and environmental reasons due to the excessive levels of congestion and pollution that these schemes will create here.

Due to our current coronavirus pandemic all planners whether public or private and local councils need to be more aware of the public health, safety and environmental implications of building high density residential developments.

This virus affects residents living more within proposed housing schemes like Bodgers Tower and Recorder House that are in areas of greater air pollution with a lack of close access to open green spaces.

Therefore it makes sense for as many concerned residents to donate and support this campaign as much as possible to challenge these private rental flats plan which will have an ever lasting impact on the Ilford town centre and its surrounding area.

We would therefore be grateful for any support and donations that people can give to our campaign.
