Who are we? 

My name is Stefan and I’m Sharon’s first born, Jade is my sister. I’m having to write this piece due to the devastation that has been caused to our family. 

It has been terribly traumatic and we feel our mum deserves justice.

Our Story: 

Mum loved her children and was very proud of her 2 young Grandchildren, mum had a lot to live for and enjoyed life. We were a small family unit and very close,  mum was the go to person and head of the family, she loved spending time with us all.

My mother's brain injury started with a simple headache, which later turned out to be a subarachnoid bleed. This started with a breathtaking headache and vomiting. My mother made several trips to her GP, made several trips to A&E, twice by an emergency ambulance and this was still missed by healthcare professionals.

Eventually through persistence and pain we finally got a diagnosis. Unfortunately we and other healthcare professionals believe this was an incorrect diagnosis which led to the wrong management of the bleed on the brain.

Next stage: 

The next stage in heartbreaking process is a long awaited Coroners court inquest this October.

If the right failings are detected at Coroner's court, then this would make a huge difference in terms of how other innocent peoples' brain injuries are managed.

We are attempting to raise £2,500 as this will initially cover the cost of instructing a barrister to represent us in coroners court.
