CAGNE seeks a fair and equitable distribution of arrivals and departures for all communities surrounding Gatwick Airport.

We are a CAGNE - Communities Against Gatwick Noise Emission - and we represent communities surrounding Gatwick airport. We are fighting to establish a fair and equitable distribution of arrivals and departures for people that live around Gatwick.

Case Background

Gatwick Airports Master Plan for 5/15 years proposes to use the emergency runway and safeguard land for a second runway as well as more flight paths using PNRAV technology to increase capacity at the airport.

This will have a hugely negative impact on the communities that live near the airport.

We strongly oppose the plan to use the emergency runway as it will mean over 80,000 extra flights a year over the very people that are already negatively impacted today. Please contribute what you can now but most importantly spread the word about our campaign on social media and with your friends and family.

It could also mean 16m extra passengers, plus staff and freight, on the roads and railway line at peak times, as well as more people travelling to West Sussex to meet the huge increase in jobs, all seeking affordable housing and amenities which are not available in the neighbouring counties.

Environmentally this is a disaster for the rural communities of Sussex, Surrey and Kent that already suffer the fallout of Gatwick's growth from the air and land.

The land safeguarded for a 2nd runway should be released to build affordable housing and not for Gatwick's shareholders profits.

How much are we raising and why?

Initially, we are raising £5,000 to start our legal challenge of the decision but we then need to go no to raise as much as we can to take this legal fight to it’s conclusion.

We are going up against a huge opponent and can’t do this without your support!
