Legal Action to defend Nature
Legal Action to defend Nature
Through a local case of continuous wildlife crimes in our local area we became aware that the law that exists in order to protect Nature is not enforced.
All relevant organisations (private and public) refused to take action to ensure that the criminal activities are stopped and those who committed them are prosecuted. Even after numerous reports, complaints and escalations. So we decided ask the assistance of the law and ask for
Legal Action to defend Nature
Our first legal action is to challenge the decisions of those public organisations who have refused to enforce the law against wildlife crimes
These are
- The Environment Agency who refused to prosecute illegal fishing and poaching as theft
- Natural England and Defra who claimed there are no breaches of licences
- LGO who does not consider protection of the Environment and its inhabitants a Council function for which a complaint can be made
- IOPC who do not consider that the complaint for the neglect of a serious case of wildlife crimes including firing of gun in a public place, is serious enough to investigate.
- The Local Council who refused act to protect the wildlife attacked inside its Local Wildlife Nature reserve and pond.
With the exception of the Council, all organisations are national and their decisions reflect their disposition against crimes to wildlife in general.
Our legal challenge wants to address their indifference to crimes against the wildlife and harm of Nature and this crowdfunding is in order to raise funds for the legal fees needed which are going to the lawyer directly.
We start with a small pledge but the more funding we gather the more issues we will be able to address.
If we gather enough funding we would like to raise the issue of
- netting although which traps and kills wildlife
- uprooting of trees especially along banks of rivers.
Please support our efforts and please share as especially in Facebook, if you care about Nature.
Thank you
