Justice for our Daughter - Failed by Social Services
Justice for our Daughter - Failed by Social Services
Who we are?
We are a family seeking answers from our local authority after our four year old daughter suffered sexual abuse at her pre-school. We sought the council’s help to find out what was happening and to protect her but rather than helping us, the council wrongly accused my husband of abuse and took our family to court.
My daughter was separated from her father for almost a year until the local authority accepted its mistake. We are seeking to take legal action to get justice for our daughter and make sure no other family has to go through what we have been through. Please contribute now and most importantly share this page with your friends, family and on social media.
Case Background
The local authority’s failures meant my daughter continued to face her abuser every day, while our family was cruelly separated and under the worst kind of suspicion. We lost our home and our jobs fighting in the courts to keep our family together. The trauma inflicted on our daughter by the separation from her father and from the intrusive and ineffective investigation by social services will continue to impact her for many years.
Luckily, we are strong and we are rebuilding our family, but to truly move on, we want answers about what went wrong and to ensure this cannot happen to other families.
Why are we raising funds?
We are seeking crowdfunding to instruct an experienced barrister to review our case and to identify whether there are steps we can take to get redress for the huge losses we suffered, to obtain proper counselling for our daughter and to make the local authority learn lessons for the future.
What has happened has left us without the ability to fund legal advice privately, so we are seeking £5,000 in crowdfunding to cover our solicitor’s work in gathering evidence and for a barrister to advise us on our options.
We would be so grateful for any contribution, large or small, and for your help in spreading the word to friends, relatives and colleagues about our case. Thank you!
