Help save an Iraqi interpreter from ISIS
Help save an Iraqi interpreter from ISIS
Kaled* provided frontline assistance to the French and US Special Forces in their fight against ISIS between 2015-2021. While working with the US Special Forces as an interpreter in early 2017, in the Kirkuk region, he received a phone call from ISIS threatening his life and the lives of his family.
They told him that they would find his wife and him, no matter where they fled. This was because of Kaled's role assisting the Americans in the region.
Kaled fears for his life, but more than that the lives of his wife and children.
The UK’s obligation to help
Under the Refugee Convention, the UK is obligated to provide asylum for those seeking lawful stay for protection from persecution. This includes the right to be reunited with partners and children, to choose their place of residence and to move freely within the UK.
We also have a moral obligation to protect the life of a man who has helped save countless families and Western soldiers from ISIS.
Kaled requires our help because in order to remain here and protect himself and his family, he must put forward a claim for asylum. Therefore, any contribution to the legal cost of this claim can help prevent his forced return to the Kirkuk region.
Help Kaled's family to safety
Kaled and his family have been targeted by ISIS due to his assistance and allegiance to the US and French governments. Kaled has brought his family to the UK in an attempt to avoid ISIS agents, as he was specifically threatened by ISIS that if he fled to France, they would find him there.
The UK Government must protect them, as Kaled has worked in the fight against ISIS. He needs your help to save his own family and regularise his immigration status in the UK.
How can you help?
To do this, Kaled needs to fund his legal claim, but does not have the funds to do so. Please consider donating funds to assist Kaled and his family.
Please share this page on social media or via email with friends and family and make a donation - any amount helps!
