The Crisis: A System Overwhelmed

Despite laws guaranteeing social care rights, more than 500,000 people are waiting just for an assessment, and over 2 million older people have unmet care needs. Too many are overwhelmed, misinformed, or unable to afford the legal help they need to secure the care they’re entitled to. Without justice, these rights don’t exist.

• The demand for specialist advice has surged by 100% post-pandemic, while our sector is shrinking.
• 90% of Adult Social Care Directors lack confidence that their budgets will meet statutory duties in 2024/25.

Our Solution: AccessAva

We’ve developed AccessAva, a legal information chatbot that helps care workers, unpaid carers, and those needing social care. It answers legal questions and helps users draft personalised letters to public bodies—ensuring their rights are met.

AccessAva has already proven invaluable to over 20 community organisations, but the need is far greater. We want to expand its reach, especially to the most underserved communities, who need it most but have the smallest budgets.
