Help A Wronged Homeless Young Man Get Justice
Help A Wronged Homeless Young Man Get Justice
I'm a young man aged 33. Due to unfortunate circumstances I was asked to leave home at the age of 15. I was effectively made homeless at a young age.
I was forced to live in hostels and community centres where I didn't have much privacy or much of a social life. I was able to find some work here and there since becoming homeless during this time I went through mental and physical health issues due to being made homeless.
I applied for a council home in 2012 in order to have a stable home with some privacy. I was put on a waiting list and given a bidding number however as I didn't have stable address in the borough I was applying for, I was taken off the waiting list in 2015. I approached a housing support worker for help and instead of helping me they made things worse for me. I even wrote to an MP for help but they were not able to help me. Due to my mental and physical health issues and lack of understanding of how to appeal I was unable to appeal my case and am still homeless at the moment.
My health has gone worse since and I feel that if I had a good solicitor to present my case I will be able to successfully appeal my housing case and be allowed to be put back on the waiting list so I can have a place of my own with some privacy as I have been homeless for too long and not had much help from anyone. I would like my health to improve and find regular work so I can start a family one day.
I spoke to a solicitor recently who has said that he has helped people in a similar situation to mine. I have asked a friend to set up this page on my behalf to crowdfund towards the cost of my case which I have been quoted £4000 if it goes to court. I will be asking my friends and contacts to donate towards my case and would appreciate if any members of the public reading this would be able to support me as it would mean a lot to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal.
