CEDAWinLAW advised earlier the postponement of its action against the Secretary of State for Work & Pensions. Whilst its case is clear that the Secretary of State refused unlawfully reasonable invitations to mediate, it has decided to wait upon further developments before proceeding with its judicial review, which it withdrew Funds generously donated were used in launching the judicial review and taking advice. Those funds fell short in the timing of providing funds for a full-blown fight in front of the court. Our counsel said of the fight; “This is an important challenge for so many 1950's Women in this country. The weight of the evidence indicates a grave injustice to them, and we will robustly represent their interests as we move forward with the assistance of our legal team.”. Whilst in the short term we have not achieved our goal for 1950s women’s pension rights, we have brought further notice to their plight and increased the political pressure that continues to build. We shall succeed for all those women.

EDWIN COE LLP awaits an overdue response from the Secretary of State for Work & Pensions to its invitation to join mediation with CEDAWinLAW and is instructed accordingly to represent us in matters therein.

CEDAWinLAW now confirms it has made an inquiry submission containing reliable information on alleged grave and/or systematic violations of rights enshrined in the CEDAW Convention by the UK State party, in accordance with article 8 of the Optional Protocol to the CEDAW Convention.

CEDAWinLAW's 'REMEDY' FOR ALL #50sWomen is:-

●  A Temporary Special Measure is an Erskine May proof Parliamentary  mechanism - with a track record of success - and the power to deliver a swift financial remedy as per CEDAWinLAW's uniquely proportionate proposal below:-

●  Payment of an initial lump sum for each identified victim and additional payments atop of their State Pension payments, paid over eg a 5 year period, for those victims whose National Insurance Contributions entitle them to compensation equal to their sums deferred;

●  No Tax payable;

●  Benefits' not affected;

●  Free dental, optician services, and prescriptions;

●  Named benefactor(s) in the event of death to receive any outstanding sums.

●  Mediation itself requires parties entering into it in good faith to reach an achievable compromise within breached laws.

Perhaps a gathering outside Government offices (together) as clearly stated many are dying and some through poverty and stress of how to pay the bills. There is so much money being wasted and giving so much away, they should be looking a home and the injustice inflicted on the 1950’s women. 🔴The 50sWomen have the right not to be discriminated against on the ground of age and/or sex. Those rights are enforceable.
