Who are we:

We are aiming to raise funds to be able to provide legal support for parents who have a child(ren) with Special Educational Needs.

There are more and more children be subjected to Section 47 enquiries (which is when a local authority are considering Child Protection procedures) rather than putting the children's needs first.

Schools and local authorities have a duty of care, however, all too often this is ignored in Special Needs situations.

Parents who request an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) for their child are too frequently left in a situation when they need to appeal the EHCP as the local authority have either ignored the child's needs, named a school for the child to attend which the parent is not happy with or have not considered all possible options such as flex-schooling, outreach work or therapeutic support.

Our case:

We are raising £5,000 so that parents can dispute decisions made by local authorities regarding their children and education provisions. We aim to achieve a consistent route for parents to be informed of the processes and procedures that the local authorities should be following.

We aim to give parents a chance of challenging Child Protection (Section 47) proceedings, especially when there is no justification for the local authorities to cause such distress and anxiety in families lives.

Thank you for your kindness in looking at this page, and we hope to bring families fair justice.
