Life on Earth is in crisis. Please help support the people of Lewisham who are putting themselves on the line to save it.

We are the Lewisham branch of Extinction Rebellion, an international movement using non-violent civil disobedience to demand our governments act on the climate and ecological emergency. In September, we will peacefully blockade the UK Parliament until they promise to debate our demands on action to address global warming (https://extinctionrebellion.uk/uk-rebellion-2020/). Some of our members will likely be arrested in the process, so we are raising money to help cover any legal costs.

Lianna, one of our members who was arrested at a protest last year, had this to say about receiving our support:

"Knowing that Extinction Rebellion Lewisham were financially supporting charged defendants was so reassuring when I went to court. I knew that with the help of my fellow rebels, I'd be able to deal with the fine, but also just really appreciated the feeling that together, they had my back."

This is an opportunity to support local people who will be arrested for their non-violent actions in defense of humanity and all other life on Earth.

Any funds not used for people arrested in September will be used to support future arrestees too. Please donate anything you can!
