Emergency Injunction: Stop fracking operations at Preston New Road
Emergency Injunction: Stop fracking operations at Preston New Road
I am a local resident and retired grandfather living in Lytham.
Since July 2017, I have been working with another anti fracking campaigner, Helen Chuntso, and made aware of received numerous refusals, delays and failures to respond to her questions regarding emergency contingency planning for the Preston New Road site.
This case has been made to safeguard the lives and well being of thousands of local residents, and businesses, including schoolchildren in the event of the need to evacuate the area in the vicinity of the Preston New Road fracking site in Lancashire.
What is the money for?
This fundraising is to meet my legal costs in seeking a Judicial Review and Emergency Injunction. This will cover
- all of the fees of my legal team in bringing this case to the court
- the potential of any costs from the defendants in bringing this case
What will happen now?
Given the imminent nature of threat to public health that an escape of toxic gases or a well blow out would pose, and in light of the fact that fracking is set to start within days, I have applied to the Courts for an Emergency Injunction to stop operations on the site.
We require full public participation and consultation in Emergency Evacuation and Contingency Planning procedures.
