Read moreK, a hunt saboteur in Norfolk was recording and preventing illegal hare hunting when she found herself arrested for 'aggravated trespass,' which is the offence of disrupting a lawful activity while trespassing. K works as a teacher and cannot afford the solicitors fees to defend herself from this clearly unlawful arrest.
Hunting wild mammals with dogs has been illegal in England and Wales since 2005, but as many hunts blatantly flout the law on a regular basis K and hundreds of others go out every week to save the lives of hunted wildlife. Norfolk Police ignored a report earlier in the day of illegal hunting and ignored evidence of illegal hunting at the time of K's arrest, such as blood on the muzzles of hounds and the behaviour of hunt staff and hounds. Police officers hitched a ride on a hunt employee's vehicle to get to K, although hunt vehicles had been harassing K and her colleagues on public rights of way earlier, denying the right of way existed.

A huge thank you to all who donated so far to help K's defence against a charge resulting from monitoring and stopping illegal hunting. Together we have reached the first target - to cover her first court appearance. Now we are trying to find some more kind people to start to cover further costs after that - preparing for a trial. Can you tell a friend?
