Victim of crime and extreme bullying aged 16 without a plan for the future

Who am I?

I’m a Mum of a 16 year old son who has had a statement of educational needs from being 3 years old; he has autism and complex needs.

My son was bullied, physically, mentally and emotionally for 5 years in high school. He had his hand broken, thrown down stairs, threatened, sexually abused and battered.

His way of coping is routine, he adored his 1-2-1 worker who was part time. Red Wednesdays were what he described as his day off when the bullying and abuse often took place.

He took his exams two days after having his head stamped on and kicked until he was unconscious and urinated blood.

We desperately need legal representation at a meeting:

  • To force the Kirklees SENDACT to produce an EHC plan which provides support for my son’s education, health and care.
  • To force Huddersfield and Calderdale healthcare professionals to provide an assessment and treatment of ptsd (identified as likely to have ptsd 2 years ago) via provision of an EHC plan.
  • To force Kirklees social care to produce the assessment they made in March 2019, but which they refuse to share or follow up with actions to support my son’s unmet educational needs.

What are we doing?

The purpose of this appeal is to raise £3500 to hold a section 57, local resolution meeting with legal support. This will provide clarity on what support is needed and will be provided.

On 4 September 2019, my son will have waited 3 years for an EHC plan which meets his needs

Please help prevent him waiting another year.

My son is at home, with no placement, struggling physically and emotionally. Every penny will enable us to be represented by someone who has the expertise to force professionals to produce an EHC plan that gives my son the future he deserves.

Legal aid does not cover meetings. Without this funding I won’t have the expertise, experience or physical energy to go to this meeting on my own.

Once again the professionals will just simply make vague promises which will not be carried through. They have done this for three years.

I’m very grateful for anything you can give. I’m doing all I can to save, waiting is torture, he cannot wait any longer.  He just needs a EHC plan to meet his needs and give him a future that he can believe in.

Thank you most sincerely for reading, sharing or contributing if you possibly can.
