Could you help me educate my disabled 9 year old with an EHC plan?
Could you help me educate my disabled 9 year old with an EHC plan?
Keep it short, clear and include a call to action. These headings might help…
Who am I? - I am a single mum in receipt of U.C I have 2 disabled children at home and a disabled adult child I support. I feel horrible asking for help so do everything myself, we receive no other support.
Summary - My daughter has a severe Learning Disability, ADHD, Joint hypermobility syndrome and is 3 years behind her peers. Her understanding and development is also behind that of her peers. Our LA are forcing us to Tribunal for an EHC plan.
Call to action - We are hoping to raise money to obtain an EHC plan so my daughter can gain a specialist placement and access the education she is entitled to, with the support she requires and is also entitled too. She is currently not attending due to non-support and she cannot afford to miss much more!
What are we trying to achieve? - The more Tribunals these local authorities are held to legal account at, the more people will have to listen to what is wrong in the SEN system. Too many of our children are missing out on education and support they are entitled too because of the games they play.
What is the next step in the case? - We are awaiting a Tribunal date and now have to find fees as the LA will be legally represented against a 9 year old girl in an attempt to stop her receiving disability support.
How much we are raising and why? - Being transparent I don't know how much this will cost, we have initial fees of £480 plus travel for a paralegal and £2160 for a solicitor. This is for one hearing, any help we get will be so appreciated
