A Scottish football club refused to pay me after I blew the whistle
Who am I?
I'm a former female footballer, having played in America and across the UK, I am an experienced football coach and football academy manager.
I love football and have a passion for supporting girls' and women's progression within the sport.
Summary
Last year, I was proactively approached to work for a Scottish Football Club.
I was offered a full-time salaried position to be the Head of Women's and Girls' Football and I accepted. I was responsible for the operation of the Women's team and the development of girls' football.
When I joined the club, I was concerned about the lack of support that the women's football team received. I worked tirelessly to try to improve conditions for the squad.
When my concerns were not fully addressed, I raised these with Scottish Women's Football ("SWF").
Once I did this, I was asked not to speak on the club's behalf, not to engage with the players, and I was then referred to as a volunteer. I was treated unfairly.
I worked nearly 600 hours and I have not been paid to date.
Call to action
Women's Football has the support and fans to succeed; I want to make sure that those who are involved in it are treated with fairness and equality.
This Scottish Football Club are banking on me not having the money to challenge their behaviour; I need your help to prove them wrong.
What is the next step in the case?
We have a Preliminary Hearing next month to consider the next steps in my case.
Our target is £2,500 to cover the legal fees for preparing and attending this hearing, along with valuing my claim in a Schedule of Loss.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
