Bitten by Apple.
Bitten by Apple.
Hi, my name is Leon Jenner and I used to be a big fan of Apple computers.
In November 2020 I bought a new iMac and it all worked fine until the upgrade to Big Sur. Since then the computer has become substandard, it won't function properly, has problems with apps working and overheats on a regular basis, etc, the list goes on.
I have been trying to contact Apple via email and post since April 2021. They have ignored me. No replies. No contact. Nothing. So I took them to small claims as I had no choice.
It turns out that Apple do open their post when it comes from the government, and they have instructed solicitors to fight my claim.
Apple have still made no attempt to contact me or ask me what the problem is.
All I want is to send the computer back and get a refund. They have most likely already spent more on their lawyers than the cost of my claim.
As a layman, with no legal experience I will not be able to fight a two and a half trillion dollar company without legal representation.
It is important that the moral rights of individuals are not trampled over by these increasingly powerful and unaccountable corporations.
Buying this computer was a financial stretch for me, I believed the expense was worth it and that I would get a long lasting, value for money product.
I feel truly wronged and as it is a small claim I will be unable to get back my legal expenses. I have already paid some legal fees that I will be unable to claim back. The cost of legal representation will also exceed the amount of my claim.
I need to raise a minimum of £12,000, without this I will have to drop the case. I believe that there are greater costs to society if companies like Apple are able to use their financial power to intimidate and prevent people from exercising their moral and legal rights.
I hope you can help me.
